Letter to Pennsylvania House Children and Youth Committee in Support of Expanding Diversion

In a letter to the Pennsylvania House Children and Youth Committee, The Sentencing Project urged lawmakers to support HB 144, which is currently under Committee consideration. The bill would expand access to diversion, requiring diversion
when a youth is arrested for a first or second-time misdemeanor offense, with some exceptions.

Passing HB 144 and expanding diversion is better for youth wellbeing and community safety.
