Advocacy and Faith Organizations Urge Reform of US Bureau of Prisons
Advocacy and faith organizations write to Director William Marshall of the Federal Bureau of Prisons urging reform.

The Sentencing Project and national organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Brennan Center for Justice, Southern Poverty Law Center, and the National Council of Churches, submitted a letter to the newly-appointed director of the federal Bureau of Prisons. The letter urges the director to remedy the inhumane conditions in federal prisons, address the staffing crisis, fully implement the First Step Act, provide constitutionally-required medical care, and improve transparency and accountability.
