Second Look Network

The Second Look Network serves, connects, and empowers legal advocates across the country to bring people serving excessive and unfair prison sentences home.

The Second Look Network is a coalition of 70 organizations and over 150 attorneys and post-sentence advocates across the country working on behalf of incarcerated individuals seeking relief from lengthy or unfair sentences, beyond the context of wrongful conviction or innocence claims.

Vision Statements

  • Harnessing our Collective Wisdom.  We believe in the power of community and we will harness the collective wisdom of advocates across the country to more effectively fight for the release of incarcerated persons serving unjust sentences.
  • Humanity & Dignity for All.  To create a more informed community, through our skills of advocacy and storytelling, that values the humanity and dignity of all people who are incarcerated, regardless of the nature of their conviction.
  • Spaces for Rehabilitation & Redemption.  Our current criminal justice system was not set up to provide enough effective opportunities for incarcerated persons to demonstrate their rehabilitation and potential.  We will work to create and expand those spaces through our advocacy.
