Niki Monazzam

Research Fellow

Niki Monazzam is a Research Fellow at The Sentencing Project, focusing on life imprisonment, particularly developing reports on young adults facing life imprisonment; in addition to providing research and writing support for the Advocacy and Research teams. Prior to joining The Sentencing Project, Niki was part of the Federal Policy team at the Vera Institute of Justice, where she analyzed and tracked policy around gender justice issues such as the criminalization of the pregnant body, juvenile justice, and the movement against solitary confinement. Niki received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from UC Berkeley and her Masters in Political Science from Columbia University.
